Products and Services:

Founded in 2009, Cinco Peso Training Group is the collaboration of long-time Texas Ranger Brad Oliver and SBLE Police Chief Mike Lane.  As the original creators of the Texas School Defender Program, Cinco Peso TG has partnered with over 50 public school and private charter districts across Texas who have chosen to incorporate an armed response and traumatic medical annex into their Emergency Operations Plan.

Minimum standards which exceed those established for active duty police officers by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement were established from the onset.  Participants are trained and equipped for the realistic expectation of not serving as a traditional police officer during a critical incident, but rather as an Immediate Responder.  Filling this critical gap between time of incident and time of arrival for First Responders is crucial in limiting casualties regardless of the nature of the emergency.  School staff members go through a thorough, multi-layered vetting process which includes professional psychological examination prior to selection for this training.

Who we serve:

We are proud training partners with over 50 public school districts and charter schools across the State of Texas.  These range from large districts such as Amarillo ISD, Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD, Lewisville Isd and McKinney ISD to smaller districts in more rural areas.  We have over 15 years experience presenting before school boards, conducting town hall meetings as well as giving safety presentations to staff assemblies returning from vacation.

Why choose Cinco Peso Training Group?

In the world of public education, two things are often in short supply when it comes to training staff members:  Time Availability and Fiscal Resources.  You simply cannot afford to waste either.  Just as important as the topics covered, is the manner in which the material is presented.  Cinco Peso TG has assembled an instructor cadre consisting of the most widely experienced and respected professionals not seen anywhere else in this field.  Backgrounds of staff and Advisory Board members include the appointed US Marshal - District of Wyoming, School Based Law Enforcement Chief, Texas Rangers, presidentially-appointed US Attorney of the Eastern District of Texas, US Special Operations, two active trauma surgeons and many other subject matter experts in their fields.

We are here to serve as a resource not only in satisfying state mandates, but to truly engage your organization in developing emergency preparedness.
