Straight Shooter specializes in the Texas Concealed Handgun Licensing classes as well as beginning, advanced, and home firearms instruction. Whether you would like to learn how to handle a gun for the first time or want to renew your current concealed handgun license, Straight Shooter has the class to fit your specific needs. 

Classes:

Licensing  Classes:

License to Carry a Handgun – This is the course required by the State of Texas to apply for your Texas Concealed Handgun License.

Proficiency Demonstration for LTC – range instruction & proficiency for the online Texas License To Carry a Handgun class.

School Safety (Guardian) – This is the course for school districts and open-enrollment schools to get education on protecting students during an active shooter situation.

Level 2 Private Security – This is the course required by the State of Texas to apply for your Level 2 – Non-commissioned (Unarmed) security license.

Level 3 Private Security - This is the course required by the State of Texas to apply for your Level 3 – Commissioned (Armed) security license.

Level 3 Re-certification - This is the course required by the State of Texas to apply for continuing education to renew your Level 3 – Commissioned (Armed) security license.

National Rifle Association Classes:

Introductory

Basics of Pistol Shooting – Teaches the safe and responsible use of a handgun (revolver & semi-automatic).

Basics of Shotgun Shooting - Teaches the safe and responsible use of a shotgun while shooting at moving targets.

Basics of Rifle Shooting - Teaches the safe and responsible use of a rifle.

Self-Defense:

Personal Protection In the Home (PPIH) – Teaches basic defensive shooting skills and strategies when responding to a violent confrontation.

Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOH) – Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective, and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.

Defensive Pistol – Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence.

Safety:

Range Safety Officer – Develops certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skill, and attitude essential to organizing and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

Straight Shooter Classes

Active Shooter Defense – Teaches how to defend any facility(church, office, business, etc.) against an active shooter incident.

Home Clearing Techniques – Identifies the safest, most efficient, and reasonable methods for safeguarding you and your family from a potential intruder in your home.

NRA Instructor Classes – Instructor classes are discipline specific. Instructor candidates will be evaluated in their performance and ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, following lesson plans and meeting all the learning objectives, while utilizing the teaching philosophies expected of NRA Certified Instructors. Candidates will learn instructional methods and evaluating and improving the performance of beginning shooters.

Firearm Transfers – As a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer, we can facilitate the purchase and transfer of firearms between individuals that have purchased firearms online or from out of state sellers.

Range Rental/Use – Straight Shooter has range use available to our potential and former students so that they improve their marksmanship and firearm handling skills.
